Interim Accounts Assistant | Consumer Products Brand | London / Hybrid

The Client

Harmonic is delighted to be partnering with a well-known British consumer brand, whose products sell in high volumes through online and marketplace channels. The finance function is in the middle of a transformation: processes are being automated, systems are being improved, and a recently established offshore team is taking on more of the day-to-day transactional work. Getting the most out of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central sits at the centre of that change.

The Role

Reporting into the Head of Finance, this is a 3-month interim role with two clear purposes. First, you will take over a hands-on workload across accounts payable, accounts receivable and reconciliations. Second, you will become the team's Business Central expert, training two colleagues in the offshore team (who come from NetSuite and SAP backgrounds) and being their first point of contact when they get stuck. Alongside this, you will work with the Head of Finance to make better use of Business Central's features and to automate processes that still run the old way. The role is hands-on, low value and high volume, with real scope to leave things working better than you found them.

Key Responsibilities

• Take over day-to-day accounts payable and accounts receivable processing in Business Central.
• Prepare and review balance sheet, supplier and customer reconciliations.
• Post and maintain general ledger and fixed asset entries.
• Train two offshore team members on Business Central, covering AP, AR and core finance processes.
• Act as the go-to point for Business Central queries, showing the team how to do things or suggesting a better way.
• Document processes so Business Central knowledge stays within the team after the contract ends.
• Identify and implement improvements, making better use of Business Central's features and automation.

Essential Experience

• Hands-on experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (or Dynamics NAV), across AP, AR, general ledger and fixed assets.
• Solid AP, AR and reconciliation experience in a high-volume, low-value transactional environment.
• Background in a stock or inventory-holding business.
• Confident explaining processes and training others, including colleagues working remotely.
• Available to start at short notice.

Desirable Experience

• Experience with Shopify, Amazon and PayPal transactions and settlements.
• Experience working with or supporting an offshore or outsourced finance team.
• A track record of improving or automating processes within Business Central.

Day Rate: £180 - £220 per day, dependent on experience

Contract: 3-month interim contract

Location: Old Street, London, hybrid, 3 days per week in the office

Start Date: ASAP, ideally ahead of a mid-November handover
