Interim Assistant Accountant

The Role

We are recruiting an Interim Assistant Accountant to support a busy finance team during a period of increased workload. This is a hands-on role supporting month-end, reconciliations and payroll processing.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with monthly management accounts preparation.
• Perform balance sheet and bank reconciliations.
• Post journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Support month-end and year-end activities.
• Process payroll using Sage Payroll.
• Manage starters, leavers, pension submissions and payroll queries.
• Support VAT returns and audit requirements.
• Assist with cashflow reporting and financial analysis.

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience as an Assistant Accountant or Assistant Management Accountant.
• Experience using Sage Payroll is essential.
• Strong Excel skills and reconciliation experience.
• AAT qualified, studying ACCA/CIMA, or qualified by experience.
• Available at short notice and able to hit the ground running.
