An opportunity has arisen for a Legal Assistant to join the team on a 3-month maternity cover contract, with the potential for extension based on business requirements.

This role will provide essential support across a varied caseload, assisting legal professionals with the day-to-day management of legal matters and court-related activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing court timetables and key deadlines
• Preparing and organising court bundles
• Attending and minuting legal meetings
• Arranging meetings, hearings and court cover as required
• Drafting routine legal documents and correspondence
• Instructing Counsel and external experts where required
• Providing administrative and legal support across a range of matters
• Undertaking additional duties as directed by the line manager

Requirements

• Law degree or equivalent legal qualification preferred
• Previous legal assistant or legal administrative experience preferred
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

Working Arrangements

This is a hybrid role, subject to service and office requirements. The successful candidate will be required to attend the office 5 days per week initially while completing induction, training and homeworking assessments. Hybrid working arrangements will be available thereafter in line with organisational policy.
