Job Title: Cleaner Location: Nottingham, Ipswitch, Sheffield Contract Type: Ongoing Salary: £12.71 per hour About the Role We are seeking a reliable, conscientious and hardworking Cleaner to join our premises team and help maintain a clean, safe, tidy and welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors. You will play a vital part in ensuring our school is a healthy place to learn and work. Key Responsibilities * Carry out general cleaning of classrooms, offices, corridors, halls, stairwells, washrooms and communal areas including dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming and polishing * Empty, clean and sanitise waste and recycling bins, and dispose of waste responsibly * Clean and sanitise washroom facilities, replenish consumables (soap, toilet roll, hand towels) and check for leaks or damage * Clean internal glass doors, windows and display boards as required * Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely, following all instructions, COSHH guidelines and training provided * Report any maintenance issues, damage, safety hazards or security concerns to the Premises Manager or Senior Member of Staff promptly * Ensure all cleaning equipment and stores are kept tidy, secure and in good working order * Work flexibly to cover absence or additional cleaning duties during school events, deep cleans or holiday periods as reasonably required * Adhere to all school policies, health and safety rules and safeguarding procedures at all times Person Specification * Able to work efficiently and thoroughly with attention to detail and take pride in your work * Reliable, punctual and able to work on your own initiative and as part of a small team * Physically fit to carry out cleaning tasks including lifting, bending, climbing steps and moving equipment * Friendly, approachable and respectful towards children, staff and visitors Safeguarding & Vetting Requirements The successful candidate MUST hold an Enhanced DBS Check which is registered on the DBS Update Service
