FindCore are thrilled to be assisting an established independent builders’ merchant with the recruitment of a Trade Sales Executive.

Permanent, full-time position based in Hayle, Cornwall.

Salary

From £28,089 basic salary + uncapped incentive payments + additional benefits

This is a proactive sales role within a small, commercially focused business. Rather than simply serving customers from stock, you’ll be expected to source products, work with suppliers, prepare competitive quotations, follow up opportunities and help grow the customer base.

Key Responsibilities

• Generate new sales opportunities and convert enquiries into business.
• Build strong, long-term relationships with trade customers and suppliers.
• Understand customer requirements and identify the right products and solutions.
• Source products through an established supplier network.
• Prepare competitive quotations and follow up opportunities through to order.
• Manage special orders, pro-forma sales and direct-to-site deliveries.
• Proactively contact customers and identify opportunities for repeat and additional business.
• Use strong product and supplier knowledge to find commercially viable solutions.
• Work towards individual and team sales targets.
• Deliver a high standard of customer service throughout the sales process.
• Play an active role in growing the business rather than simply managing existing accounts.

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience within sales, trade sales, account management or business development.
• Builders’ merchant, construction or building materials experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
• Strong commercial instinct and confidence generating new business.
• Comfortable sourcing products and working with multiple suppliers.
• Confident preparing quotations and following up sales opportunities.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Proactive, ambitious and comfortable taking ownership of your own sales activity.
• Strong customer-focused approach.
• Able to work independently while contributing positively to a small team.
• Good attitude, initiative and drive are particularly important.
