Hays Education is recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Rugby. This is a full-time role for the full academic year, with the opportunity to secure a permanent contract for the right candidate.

Whether you have experience as a Teaching Assistant, Support Worker, Learning Support Assistant, Care Worker, Youth Worker, or have worked with children and young people with additional needs, we would love to hear from you.

About the Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them access learning, build confidence, and achieve their potential.

Key responsibilities:

• Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis
• Assisting the class teacher with lessons and activities
• Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement
• Supporting students with communication, social, emotional, and learning needs
• Helping create a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment

What you'll need to succeed

• Experience working with children, young people, or vulnerable adults
• Teaching Assistant, SEN, care, support work, or youth work experience essential
• A patient, resilient, and positive attitude
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• A genuine passion for supporting children with SEN
