You will be responsible for the end-to-end processing of payrolls across a varied portfolio of clients, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and exceptional service. Working closely with the Payroll Manager, you'll play a key role in maintaining high standards while helping to improve processes and efficiencies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process payrolls across weekly, fortnightly, monthly, quarterly, and annual pay cycles.
  • Ensure accurate payroll calculations, statutory deductions, and timely payments.
  • Manage RTI submissions, payroll filings, and correspondence with HMRC.
  • Administer pension auto-enrolment, employee assessments, and pension contribution reporting.
  • Process starters and leavers, including P45s, P60s, and starter documentation.
  • Complete year-end payroll activities, reconciliations, and HMRC submissions.
  • Act as a key point of contact for client payroll queries, providing professional and proactive support.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and deliver a high level of customer service.
  • Prepare payroll-related invoices and assist with the monitoring of outstanding payments.
  • Utilise cloud-based payroll systems and technology to ensure efficient service delivery.
  • Keep up to date with payroll legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Support wider payroll administration and operational tasks as required.

About You

We're keen to speak with candidates who have:

  • Payroll processing experience, ideally within a bureau, accountancy practice, or client-facing environment.
  • Experience processing weekly and monthly payrolls.
  • Strong understanding of payroll legislation, HMRC processes, and pension auto-enrolment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Good Excel and general IT system skills, including the use of formulas.
  • Experience building and managing client relationships.
  • The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.
  • A proactive and organised approach to managing deadlines and workloads.

What's on Offer

  • Hybrid working.
  • 37.5-hour working week.
  • Core working hours of 10:00am – 4:00pm, Monday to Friday.
  • Flexible working arrangements.
  • Structured career progression and personal development plans.
  • Ongoing training and professional development support.
  • Exposure to a varied client portfolio.
  • Friendly, collaborative, and supportive team environment.
  • Opportunity to develop your payroll career within a growing business.
