Air Export Operator - Feltham

Right Now Group are currently recruiting for an experienced Air Export Operator on behalf of a leading global logistics and freight forwarding organisation based in Feltham, close to Heathrow.

This is an excellent opportunity to join an established international business specialising in Air Freight, Project Logistics and wider freight forwarding solutions.

We are looking for an experienced Air Export professional with a strong understanding of general airfreight operations, who is confident managing shipments from start to finish. The successful candidate will have experience handling export customs, airline bookings, freight documentation and international shipments, with strong attention to detail and a customer-focused approach.

Working within a busy Air Export operation, you will take ownership of shipments from initial booking through to final delivery and billing, liaising closely with customers, airlines, hauliers, overseas offices and suppliers to ensure freight moves efficiently, compliantly and within agreed deadlines.

Key Responsibilities of an Air Export Operator:

• Manage Air Export shipments from start to finish, including bookings, collections, customs clearance, documentation, tracking and final billing.
• Complete and process UK export customs entries accurately and in accordance with HMRC requirements.
• Prepare and manage Air Export documentation, including MAWBs, HAWBs, commercial invoices, packing lists, export declarations and pre-alerts.
• Coordinate bookings with airlines and arrange collections and deliveries with hauliers.
• Liaise with customers, airlines, overseas offices, agents, hauliers and handling agents throughout the shipment process.
• Monitor shipments closely and proactively manage any delays, discrepancies or operational issues.
• Ensure all shipments are handled in accordance with relevant security, compliance and customer requirements.
• Maintain accurate job files and ensure all shipment information is correctly recorded within the freight management system.
• Complete job costing and billing, ensuring all costs and revenues are accurately captured.
• Provide regular shipment updates to customers and overseas offices.
• Provide a high level of customer service while managing multiple shipments within a fast-paced freight forwarding environment.

The Successful Air Export Operator:

• Minimum 2 years' Air Export experience within a freight forwarding environment.
• Proven experience managing Air Export shipments from start to finish.
• Strong understanding of Air Export procedures, airline bookings and export documentation.
• Experience completing UK export customs entries is essential.
• Good knowledge of HMRC customs requirements and export compliance.
• Experience working with MAWBs, HAWBs and commercial shipping documentation.
• Excellent attention to detail and a strong ability to maintain accurate shipment records.
• Strong communication and customer service skills, with confidence liaising with customers, airlines, hauliers and overseas offices.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple shipments and deadlines.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure within a busy freight forwarding environment.

Salary & Benefits:

• Salary: £28,000 - £34,000 per annum, depending on experience.
• Location: Feltham / Heathrow area.
• Hours: Monday - Friday, 09:00 - 18:00.
