Air Export Operator

Right Now Group are currently recruiting for an experienced Air Export Operator to join a well-established, independent freight forwarding company based in the Heathrow area.

This is a hands-on position within a small and supportive team, taking responsibility for Air Export shipments from start to finish while also gaining exposure to Import operations. You'll handle a mixture of general cargo and pharmaceutical shipments, managing everything from quotations and bookings through to customs clearance, documentation and final billing.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Air Export professional looking for a varied role where you can take ownership of shipments and develop your wider freight forwarding experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage Air Export shipments from quotation and booking through to customs clearance, departure and final billing.
• Create and process MAWBs and HAWBs and complete all required export customs entries and shipping documentation.
• Coordinate general cargo and pharmaceutical shipments while ensuring relevant handling, customs and compliance requirements are followed.
• Liaise with airlines, overseas agents, suppliers and customers to coordinate shipments, provide updates and resolve operational issues.
• Support Import shipments from start to finish, with training provided where additional Import knowledge is required.
• Work closely with colleagues across the operation and provide additional support within the warehouse when required.

The Successful Candidate

• Previous experience within Air Export operations in a freight forwarding environment.
• Good knowledge of MAWB and HAWB creation, export documentation and customs procedures.
• Experience managing Air Export shipments from start to finish.
• Experience with general cargo, with pharmaceutical freight experience advantageous.
• Some understanding or exposure to Import operations would be beneficial, with a willingness to develop further.
• Strong communication, organisation and attention to detail with the flexibility to work within a small team environment.

Salary & Benefits

• Salary between £30,000 - £35,000, depending on experience.
• Monday to Friday working hours.
• Required to work 1 in every 4 Saturdays.
• Following successful completion of probation, the Saturday requirement will provide an additional £500 per month.
