Sales Ledger Clerk
Location: Basildon
Salary: Up to £32,000 per annum + Benefits

Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit an experienced and motivated Sales Ledger Clerk to join our established finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional seeking a varied role within a fast-paced and supportive environment.

Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in managing sales ledger activities across multiple entities, working closely with customers, internal stakeholders, and international partners to ensure the smooth running of financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Raising and processing a high volume of sales invoices and credit notes across multiple entities and currencies.
• Managing customer accounts and maintaining accurate sales ledger records.
• Monitoring outstanding balances and undertaking credit control activities to ensure timely collection of payments.
• Maintaining sales order reports and ensuring accurate financial data.
• Building strong relationships with customers, suppliers, freight forwarders, and international partners.
• Liaising with internal sales and operations teams to support efficient business processes.
• Investigating and resolving invoice queries, account discrepancies, and customer disputes in a timely manner.
• Supporting month-end activities and assisting with financial reporting requirements.
• Providing administrative and analytical support to the Financial Controller as required.

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience within a Sales Ledger, Accounts Receivable, or Finance Assistant role.
• Strong working knowledge of Sage 50.
• Good understanding of credit control and customer account management.
• Confident user of Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate financial records.
• A proactive and self-motivated approach to work.

Working Hours

• Monday to Thursday: 8:30am to 5:30pm Friday: 8:30am to 1:00pm (Summer) / 3:00pm (Winter)
