Credit Controller (Temp-to-Perm)

The Opportunity

An established and growing business based in Macclesfield is seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join its finance team on a temp-to-perm basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated finance professional who can make an immediate impact by managing customer accounts, maximising cash collection, and reducing aged debt.Reporting into the Finance Manager, you will take ownership of a busy ledger, working closely with customers and internal stakeholders to ensure outstanding balances are collected efficiently while maintaining strong professional relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Proactively chase outstanding debt via telephone, email, and written correspondence.
• Investigate and resolve customer queries promptly to ensure timely payment.
• Escalate complex or high-risk accounts where appropriate.
• Monitor aged debt and identify opportunities to improve cash collection performance.
• Carry out credit checks and due diligence on new customer accounts.
• Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure accurate and timely invoicing.
• Maintain strong customer relationships while managing financial risk.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the credit control function.
• Assist with reporting and account reconciliation as required.

About You

• Previous experience within a Credit Control position.
• Proven track record of cash collection and reducing aged debt.
• Target and KPI driven.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience using NetSuite or a similar ERP system would be advantageous.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
• Available to start immediately or at short notice.
