Fixed Term Contract (12 months) Finance Assistant

Cambridge (hybrid 50/50)

£28,000-£30,000 per annum

We are recruiting for an Accounts Assistant to join a busy finance team on a fixed-term contract, supporting high-volume purchase ledger and general ledger activities, combined with Excel based tasks.

Key responsibilities:

• Processing high-volume purchase orders and journal uploads using Excel-based templates.
• Matching purchase orders to invoices and supporting supplier account reconciliations.
• Validating large datasets to ensure accuracy and data integrity.
• Supporting month-end processes, journal postings and account reconciliations.
• Investigating discrepancies and assisting with routine financial reporting.

What we're looking for:

• Previous experience in Accounts Payable, Purchase Ledger, Finance Assistant or similar accounting support roles.
• Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP and SUMIF-type formulas.
• Experience working with large volumes of financial data and system uploads.
• Strong attention to detail and a highly accurate approach to work.
• Good problem-solving skills and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with Atlas or similar Excel-based reporting tools would be advantageous.
