Finance Assistant – Purchase Ledger

Hoot Recruit is working with a well-established and successful business looking to recruit a Finance Assistant to join its busy accounts team.

We're looking for someone who's enthusiastic, organised and happy to roll their sleeves up and get stuck in.

You don't need years of experience or a long list of qualifications. What's more important is having a good understanding of basic accounts processes, a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.

What you'll be doing

• Processing purchase invoices and maintaining the purchase ledger
• Matching invoices to purchase orders and delivery notes
• Reconciling supplier statements
• Dealing with supplier queries and resolving discrepancies
• Assisting with payment runs
• Maintaining accurate financial records
• Supporting the wider finance team with general accounts duties

What we're looking for

• Some previous experience working in an accounts or finance environment
• Ideally, some knowledge of purchase ledger processes
• Good attention to detail and organisational skills
• Comfortable using Excel and accounting software
• A proactive, hands-on approach to work
• Someone who's reliable, enthusiastic and enjoys being part of a team
