This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and proactive individual to join a supportive team where you will play an important role in helping fee earners deliver a high-quality service to clients throughout the residential property transaction process.

The successful candidate will have previous experience within residential conveyancing, a strong understanding of conveyancing procedures, and the ability to manage workloads effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will be supporting fee earners across a varied caseload of freehold and leasehold sales and purchases, helping ensure transactions progress smoothly from instruction through to completion.
The firm offers a competitive salary of up to £30,000, alongside a range of benefits and a positive working environment.

Role Overview / Responsibilities
As a Conveyancing Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing comprehensive administrative and practical support to Conveyancing Fee Earners across a varied residential property caseload.
  • Supporting freehold and leasehold sales and purchases from initial instruction through to completion.
  • Managing communications with clients, estate agents, lenders and other solicitors by telephone, email and letter.
  • Proactively progressing transactions and providing regular updates to clients and other parties.
  • Opening new files and completing Anti-Money Laundering (AML) checks and client due diligence.
  • Requesting searches, title documents, redemption statements and other relevant information.
  • Reviewing, preparing and drafting conveyancing documentation, including contract packs.
  • Preparing replies to enquiries and requisitions.
  • Assisting with the exchange of contracts and completion of transactions.
  • Preparing completion statements and bills.
  • Maintaining accurate file records and updating the firm's case management system.
  • Undertaking post-completion administration where required.
  • Ensuring all work is completed accurately and efficiently while maintaining excellent client care standards.

About You
To be considered for this opportunity, you will ideally have:

  • Previous experience working as a Conveyancing Assistant within a residential property team.
  • Experience supporting fee earners with freehold and leasehold sales and purchases throughout the transaction lifecycle.
  • A sound understanding of residential conveyancing procedures and workflows.
  • Knowledge of AML regulations and client verification requirements.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate records.
  • Outstanding communication skills and a client-focused approach.
  • A proactive attitude and the ability to work effectively under pressure.

Experience with remortgages and Transfers of Equity would be advantageous, as would familiarity with FormEvo, paperless or paper-light working practices, and case management systems.

The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary of up to £30,000, alongside a range of benefits, including:

  • Competitive salary of up to £30,000, depending on experience.
  • Annual leave starting at 22 days plus bank holidays, increasing to 25 days.
  • Company pension scheme.
