We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join a supportive and collaborative finance team on a part-time, 6-month fixed-term contract. This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, or finance administration who is looking to broaden their experience across a varied finance function while benefiting from flexible hybrid working.

The Role

As Finance Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the organisation, helping to ensure accurate record-keeping, strong financial controls, and excellent service to internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices accurately and efficiently
• Support both accounts payable and accounts receivable activities
• Carry out bank reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records
• Assist with month-end and year-end finance processes
• Support the preparation of financial reports and reporting schedules
• Maintain data integrity across finance systems
• Respond to finance-related queries from colleagues and stakeholders
• Identify opportunities to improve finance processes and controls
• Work closely with the wider finance team to ensure efficient financial operations

About You

To succeed in this role, you will have:

• Previous experience in an Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Finance Assistant, or Finance Administration role
• A sound understanding of basic accounting principles and finance processes
• Strong numerical skills and excellent attention to detail
• Good organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
• Experience using finance systems and strong Microsoft Excel skills
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• A proactive approach and willingness to learn
• The ability to build positive working relationships across the business

Desirable

• Studying towards an AAT, ACCA, or CIMA qualification
