We're looking for an experienced Technical Product Writer to join a major financial services organisation going through significant digital and technology transformation.

This is a hands-on writing role focused on creating and improving documentation for a frontend engineering platform. You'll work closely with engineers and technical subject-matter experts, turning complex information into clear, practical documentation that helps software teams understand the platform, get started quickly and complete common tasks independently.

What you'll be doing

• Writing, editing and maintaining technical documentation for software engineers
• Creating getting-started guides, step-by-step instructions, FAQs, troubleshooting content and release communications
• Working directly with engineers and SMEs to gather and validate technical information
• Turning complex or incomplete technical material into concise, easy-to-understand content
• Structuring documentation so users can quickly find the information they need
• Developing writing standards, templates and terminology to improve consistency
• Reviewing existing documentation to identify gaps, duplication and areas for improvement
• Managing content through drafting, review, publication and ongoing updates
• Using reader feedback to continually improve documentation
• Supporting engineers who contribute to documentation while maintaining editorial quality

What we're looking for

• Strong experience in technical writing, technical documentation, content design or a similar writing-focused role
• Excellent written English, editing skills and attention to detail
• Experience simplifying complex technical information without losing accuracy
• Confidence working with engineers and technical SMEs
• Strong information architecture and content-organisation skills
• A user-focused approach to documentation
• Experience managing documentation throughout its full lifecycle
• A portfolio demonstrating high-quality technical or user-focused writing

Nice to have

Experience in any of the following would be particularly useful:

• Writing documentation for software engineers, internal platforms or digital products
• Developer documentation, onboarding guides or knowledge bases
• Markdown and version control
• Frontend web development terminology
• Software development and delivery environments
• Financial services or another regulated industry
• Accessibility and inclusive content principles

This would suit someone who enjoys getting under the skin of complex technical subjects and translating them into documentation that people can genuinely understand and use. This is specifically a writing and documentation role rather than a Product Manager position, so the focus is firmly on content quality, usability and consistency rather than owning product strategy or engineering delivery.
