Accountant

Permanent | Full or Part Time | Flexible Hours

Location: Just outside Haywards Heath, West Sussex (RH17) – office-based with parking

Salary: £40,000 – £50,000

Tony Alan Recruitment is currently recruiting for an Accountant to join a small, growing and forward-thinking accountancy practice based just outside Haywards Heath, West Sussex.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified or part-qualified accountant looking for a flexible role within a friendly and collaborative team environment.

There is also the opportunity for the successful candidate to become increasingly involved in the growth and development of the business, with the potential to progress into a more senior, director-level role in the future, should this be of interest.

You will work closely with a range of clients, providing a broad range of accounting and tax services, including:

• Preparing self-assessments for company directors
• Supporting limited companies with their accounting requirements
• Assisting clients with Making Tax Digital (MTD)
• Bookkeeping
• Preparing management accounts and cashflow forecasts
• Year-end accounts
• Preparing financial statements
• VAT returns
• CIS returns
• General client support and accountancy advice

Key Requirements:

• Previous experience in a similar accounting or practice-based role (can be from commercial sector as well)
• Strong, hands-on experience across a range of accounting functions
• Experience working with Xero
• Good Excel skills
• Experience managing or supporting a portfolio of clients
• A professional, personable and proactive approach
• The ability to work independently while also contributing positively to a small team
