Conveyancing Title Checker

Salary: £30,000 – £40,000 DOE
Location: Milton Keynes / Remote Working Options

SJC Legal is currently working with an established and growing legal services business looking to recruit an experienced Conveyancing Title Checker to join its Residential Conveyancing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Conveyancer or property professional who enjoys the technical side of conveyancing and is looking to specialise in title checking rather than managing a traditional caseload.

The Role

• Review Freehold and Leasehold titles, Land Registry documentation and title deeds
• Examine property searches and identify potential legal issues
• Identify title defects, restrictive covenants, easements, rights of way and boundary issues
• Raise and respond to title-related enquiries
• Review planning permissions and Building Regulations documentation
• Ensure compliance with lender requirements and the UK Finance Mortgage Lenders' Handbook
• Work closely with Conveyancers and Fee Earners to ensure transactions progress efficiently
• Maintain high standards of compliance and risk management

The Candidate

• Previous experience within Residential Conveyancing, ideally including title checking
• Strong understanding of Freehold and Leasehold property transactions
• Confident identifying and resolving complex title issues
• Good knowledge of Land Registry procedures and lender requirements
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
• Qualified Solicitors, Licensed Conveyancers, CILEx professionals and experienced unqualified candidates will be considered
