A welcoming and supportive primary school in Chatham is seeking an experienced and confident Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team as soon as possible.

This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated HLTA who is confident leading whole-class learning, supporting pupils with additional needs, and making a positive impact across the school.

Essential Requirements:

• HLTA qualification or equivalent relevant experience.
• Previous experience working within a primary school setting.
• Confidence teaching and managing a full class in the absence of the class teacher.
• Strong understanding of the primary curriculum.
• Experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
• Particular experience working with pupils with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) and behavioural needs.
• Excellent behaviour management skills.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver planned lessons and lead whole-class teaching when required.
• Support learning across a range of primary year groups.
• Provide targeted interventions for individuals and small groups.
• Support pupils with SEN, including those with SEMH and behavioural challenges.
• Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff to ensure positive outcomes for all pupils.
• Help create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.
