Reed HR are working alongside a large Educational Establishment based in South East London who are recruiting for an experienced Interim Head of People Operations and Compliance for initially 6 months.

This role is hybrid.

Job Summary

The Head of People Operations provides senior operational leadership across people operations, talent acquisition, people systems, employee relations interface, immigration compliance and people administration.

Key Responsibilities

Role Specific

Operational Leadership and Governance

• Lead the operational delivery of People Operations services across the establishment, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and compliance with legislative and regulatory frameworks.

• Translate strategic direction into operational plans, service standards and performance measures.

• Provide operational assurance, risk management and governance across People Operations activity.

• Represent People Operations at business committees and working groups.

Talent Acquisition and Recruitment

• Lead the operational delivery of inclusive and responsive recruitment and onboarding services, including senior and executive recruitment.

• Oversee large-scale and complex recruitment campaigns, ensuring quality, timeliness and stakeholder satisfaction.

• Ensure recruitment frameworks, processes and systems are compliant with employment law and immigration legislation.

People Operations and Employee Lifecycle

• Lead the provision of high-quality operational HR services across the employee lifecycle, including contractual changes, pay, absence, family-friendly policies and casual workforce compliance.

• Ensure consistent and timely first-line support for employee relations casework, working in partnership with Employee Relations and Change colleagues.

• Provide operational leadership for organisational change programmes, restructures and service redesign activity.

People Systems and Digital Enablement

• Lead the operational management and continuous improvement of Horizon (Oracle Cloud) People Systems.

• Ensure effective delivery of system enhancements, self-service functionality, training and user support.

Staff Immigration Compliance

• Lead the operational delivery of staff immigration compliance across all workforce groups.

• Ensure effective implementation of policies, procedures and training that balance immigration requirements with employment law.

• Work with senior colleagues to prepare for Home Office audits and inspections and mitigate organisational risk.
