Commercial Account Handler – London (West End)

Salary: Circa £55,000

Role Summary:

If you are a motivated commercial handler feeling constrained by segmented duties or slow progression within a large corporate broker, this role offers an immediate step forward. Working closely with three Account Executives in an expanding West End team, you will handle a high-quality portfolio focused on construction and real estate. The position provides structured mentorship and autonomy to take ownership of smaller risks early on. It also establishes a defined pathway to transition into a client-facing Account Executive role within 18 to 24 months.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work collaboratively alongside three established Account Executives across mid-to-upper commercial, real estate and construction risks, giving you direct exposure to complex placements and technical market broking.
• Take the lead on placing and managing smaller, less complex commercial accounts under executive guidance, allowing you to develop independent decision-making skills and establish your own insurer relationships.
• Handle day-to-day client advisory, renewals and policy adjustments across a UK client base, deepening your consulting expertise and building your personal reputation across the London market.
• Gradually build and manage your own portfolio of accounts as your experience grows, providing you with a clear, supported route to transition into a fully fledged Account Executive position.

Requirements:

• Proven experience handling UK commercial insurance risks, with background knowledge in construction, real estate or commercial combined packages being advantageous.
• Strong technical broking capabilities and commercial awareness, supported by clear and effective communication skills across insurer and client networks.
• An ability to work independently and flexibly across a growing team, with a positive approach to collaboration rather than rigid job boundaries.
• A clear personal motivation to develop your career toward independent client management and an Account Executive role.
