We're looking for an ambitious and motivated Business Development Executive to join a growing Global Event team based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire.

The Opportunity

You'll be joining a growing division specialising in global logistics solutions for exhibitions, trade shows and live events.

With ambitious growth plans and an expanding international client base, the business is building a dedicated new business sales team, creating an exciting opportunity to get involved from the beginning.

Working closely with the Head of Strategic Partnerships, you'll receive hands-on mentoring, industry training and the opportunity to develop your commercial skills while helping to shape the future of the business.

This is a proactive, new-business-focused sales role, where your success will come from identifying opportunities, building relationships and converting prospects into new clients.

What You'll Be Doing

• Proactively identify and approach prospective clients across the exhibitions, events, production and logistics sectors.
• Make regular outbound sales calls to generate new business opportunities and build relationships with potential customers.
• Research target companies, event organisers, exhibitors and agencies that could benefit from international event logistics services.
• Generate leads through telephone prospecting, LinkedIn, email campaigns, networking and industry events.
• Build and manage your own sales pipeline, keeping accurate records and tracking opportunities through the CRM system.
• Qualify incoming enquiries and arrange meetings with prospective clients.
• Work with internal teams to prepare tailored proposals, quotations and logistics solutions.
• Develop your negotiation and closing skills to secure new client contracts.
• Attend exhibitions, trade shows and industry networking events across the UK and internationally.
• Keep up to date with industry developments, market trends and new business opportunities.

About You

We're looking for someone with a positive attitude, plenty of enthusiasm and a genuine interest in developing a successful career in sales.

You don't need to have worked in event before – full industry and service training will be provided.

Ideally, you'll bring:

• Some previous experience in sales, business development, account management or a customer-facing commercial role.
• Confidence making outbound telephone calls and approaching new businesses.
• A proactive, self-motivated approach with the resilience to handle rejection and keep moving forward.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• A professional, personable manner and the confidence to engage with decision-makers.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple opportunities.
• Good IT skills and ideally some experience using CRM systems.
• A collaborative, team-focused attitude.
• A willingness to travel to exhibitions, industry events and client meetings in the UK and overseas.
