We are looking for an ambitious, commercially minded and driven Exhibition Sales Manager to join our fast-growing team. We are seeking a sales professional who thrives on developing new business opportunities across a range of technology sectors and is comfortable engaging with senior decision-makers at some of the world’s leading technology, chemicals, materials and energy suppliers and manufacturers.

The role will involve international travel to industry trade events, conferences and exhibitions. Face-to-face sales experience is desirable but not essential. Operating within the thriving international B2B exhibitions and conferences industry, the position will be largely telephone-based, so an excellent telephone manner and strong social selling skills are essential.

Key responsibilities include:

• Working on the launch of multiple international B2B exhibitions in emerging sustainability and cleantech sectors.
• Building, developing and managing a pipeline of prospective exhibitors, generating revenue through the sale of exhibition space and sponsorship opportunities.
• Driving consistent weekly sales activity to achieve annual event sales targets.
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records within the company’s CRM system.
• Introducing and pitching exhibitions to senior decision-makers, from SMEs to global corporations, through direct outreach to new and existing clients.
• Managing relationships with new and existing exhibitors, helping them maximise their return on investment (ROI) from our events.
• Collaborating with internal teams, including marketing and operations, to ensure the successful delivery of each event.

The Person

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following skills and qualities:

• Proven experience in a telephone-based sales role, combined with an excellent telephone manner. Experience in exhibition or event sponsorship sales is preferred but not essential.
• An entrepreneurial mindset, strong commercial drive and excellent persuasion and relationship-building skills, with an awareness of cultural differences and the ability to communicate effectively across international markets.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including professional email correspondence, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• A self-motivated, proactive and highly organised approach, with the initiative and ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
• Resilience and confidence when engaging with senior decision-makers, including CEOs and company presidents, with the flexibility to adapt sales approaches and successfully close business.
• Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook, and confidence using professional networking platforms such as LinkedIn and Apollo to identify and engage with prospective clients.
• Experience of international travel or working in international business environments would be advantageous, as we work with a global client base.
