Civil Litigation Solicitor (5+ PQE)

Location: East Midlands (Hybrid Working Available)
Salary: Competitive, DOE (Dependent on Experience)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Civil Litigation Solicitor to join a well-established and growing law firm in the East Midlands. This role offers a clear progression pathway to Partnership and would suit an ambitious solicitor looking to take the next step in their career while developing a team and client base.

The successful candidate will ideally have a strong litigation background with exposure to property-related disputes, although candidates with broader civil litigation experience will also be considered.

The Role

You will manage a varied caseload of civil litigation matters while playing a key role in supervising and mentoring junior fee earners, assistants, and consultants within the department.

Typical matters may include:

• Property litigation and boundary disputes
• Landlord and tenant disputes
• Contract disputes
• Debt recovery
• Professional negligence claims
• Commercial litigation matters
• General civil disputes

Key Responsibilities

• Managing a diverse caseload of civil litigation matters from instruction through to resolution.
• Advising clients on litigation strategy, risks, and costs.
• Conducting negotiations, mediations, and settlement discussions.
• Drafting legal documents, pleadings, witness statements, and correspondence.
• Representing clients at hearings where appropriate.
• Supervising and supporting assistants, paralegals, and consultant solicitors.
• Assisting with departmental growth and business development initiatives.
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships.
• Contributing towards the firm's long-term strategic objectives.

Candidate Requirements

• Qualified Solicitor with ideally 5+ years' PQE.
• Strong experience in Civil Litigation.
• Property Litigation experience would be highly advantageous.
• Proven ability to manage a caseload independently.
• Experience supervising or mentoring junior team members.
• Excellent communication and client care skills.
• Commercial awareness and business development capability.
• Ambition to progress into a future leadership or Partnership position.
