Accounts Receivable / Credit Controller

Location: Lincolnshire (office-based, full-time)

The Role

We’re looking for an experienced Accounts Receivable / Credit Controller to manage the sales ledger and take ownership of customer payments and credit control. Responsibilities will include chasing overdue debt, allocating and reconciling receipts, managing credit limits and held orders, resolving customer queries and escalating high-risk accounts where necessary. You’ll play a key role in maintaining accurate accounts, protecting cash flow and building strong customer relationships while ensuring payment terms are upheld.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience in credit control, accounts receivable or collections.
• Confident telephone manner and strong written communication skills.
• Good working knowledge of accounting systems, with Sage, Orderwise or similar advantageous.
• Strong numeracy, attention to detail and account reconciliation skills.
• Assertive and resilient, with the ability to manage difficult conversations and enforce credit terms professionally.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across teams.
• Experience with Creditsafe, online payment platforms or formal debt recovery would be advantageous.
• AAT qualification or working towards one would be beneficial.
