Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role supporting pupils with additional needs?

We are recruiting Teaching Assistants to work in a specialist education setting in the Rotherham area, supporting pupils with a range of SEN, SEMH and behavioural needs. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about making a positive difference and helping young people achieve their potential.

The Role

• Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
• Working with children and young people who may display challenging behaviour
• Assisting the class teacher with learning activities and behaviour management
• Building positive relationships with pupils and promoting engagement in learning
• Encouraging social, emotional and academic development
• Supporting pupils both inside and outside the classroom

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience working with SEN, SEMH or challenging behaviour is essential
• Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, resilient approach
• Experience working in schools, alternative provisions, care settings or youth work is desirable
• Team Teach training would be advantageous, although not essential
• Ability to build rapport quickly and maintain professional boundaries
• Flexible, reliable and passionate about supporting vulnerable young people
