Finance Business Partner - Children's and Schools - Interim

Spencer Clarke Group are working closely with a Local Authority to appoint an Interim Finance Business Partner to lead financial support across Children's and Schools services.

This is a part-time assignment providing additional support while the current business partner is seconded onto a project.

• Rate: £511 - £650 per day

• Contract length: 3-6 Months (ongoing)

• Hours: 24 hours per week across three days - Flexibility over which three days are worked

• Hybrid working

• Start: ASAP

The Role

The successful candidate will lead the Children's and Schools finance team, overseeing financial management and providing high-quality advice to senior service managers.

Key responsibilities:

• Leading and managing the Children's and Schools finance team.

• Overseeing budget monitoring, forecasting and financial reporting.

• Leading budget setting and supporting financial planning.

• Coordinating year-end tasks and the closure of accounts.

• Providing financial advice and challenge to senior management.

• Working with budget holders to identify financial pressures and manage risks.

About You

You will have:

• A full CCAB or CIMA accountancy qualification, including CIPFA - essential.

• Significant local authority experience in children's and schools finance - essential.

• Proven experience leading finance teams and delivering budget monitoring, budget setting and year-end processes.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to advise senior stakeholders.
