Shape Quality Excellence Across a Manufacturing Operation

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quality Manager to take ownership of the quality strategy within a highly regarded manufacturing environment.

This is a senior leadership role offering the chance to influence business-wide performance, champion a culture of quality, and drive continuous improvement across all areas of the operation. Working closely with the Plant Manager and wider leadership team, you will ensure that quality remains at the heart of everything the business delivers.

The Opportunity

This position is ideal for a quality professional who enjoys balancing strategic leadership with hands-on operational support. You'll be the driving force behind quality improvement initiatives, ensuring products consistently meet customer expectations while developing processes that support future business growth.

You will work collaboratively with production, engineering, technical, operational excellence, customers, and suppliers to identify opportunities for improvement and implement sustainable solutions that enhance performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction to the Quality team, including Quality Engineers, Quality Assurance and Quality Control personnel.
• Champion a proactive quality culture where accountability for quality is embedded throughout the organisation.
• Manage and continuously improve the site's Quality Management System and maintain ISO9001 certification.
• Establish effective inspection, testing and quality assurance processes that ensure compliance with product specifications.
• Lead investigations into customer complaints, supplier concerns and internal non-conformances, ensuring effective corrective actions are implemented and sustained.
• Partner with Operations and Continuous Improvement teams to deliver Lean and process improvement projects.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and suppliers to support quality performance and business objectives.
• Support the development and coaching of employees to enhance quality awareness and capability across the site.

Essential Experience & Skills

• Significant experience within a Quality Management position in a manufacturing environment.
• Extensive knowledge of ISO9001 standards and quality management systems.
• Proven leadership experience, with the ability to develop and motivate teams.
• Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
• Experience managing customer and supplier quality issues and driving corrective actions.
• Experience leading audits, compliance activities and quality improvement programmes.

Desirable

• Project Management experience.
• APQP knowledge and experience.
• Formal Lean, Six Sigma or Continuous Improvement qualifications.
• Experience leading business-wide quality transformation initiatives.
