Role Summary

If you are currently handling commercial insurance and looking to step up into a client-facing advisory role, this position offers direct ownership of an existing book alongside warm business growth. Rather than a routine replacement, this appointment focuses on long-term client advisory across varied commercial accounts, backed by a major national broker within a close-knit Cornish team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage an established commercial book across renewals, midterm adjustments and daily advisory queries, giving you immediate account stability and trusted direct relationships.
  • Broke risks to the open market and negotiate directly with insurers, sharpening your technical placement expertise and expanding your underwriter network.
  • Handle inbound and proactive new business enquiries across mixed commercial classes, offering you autonomy to develop your pipeline and gain regional visibility.
  • Review client demands and needs to deliver structured broking presentations, deepening your exposure to complex corporate risks and technical policy wordings.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience within general or commercial insurance broking or underwriting, with sound technical knowledge across commercial lines.
  • Proven ability to manage client renewals, policy adjustments, and new business enquiries.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with confidence advising commercial clients and collaborating with market underwriters.
  • Experience using broking software such as Acturis is advantageous, alongside commitment to ongoing professional development.
