Field Debt Recovery Officer - Face-to-Face Debt Collection
£29,000 Basic + £5,000 Car Allowance + £45,000+ OTE
Location: Bournemouth to Portsmouth Field-Based | Established Business | Excellent Earning Potential. Already working in field debt collection and looking for your next opportunity? We're recruiting for an established organisation seeking experienced Field Debt Recovery Officers to manage customer visits across a defined territory. This is a field-based position, working directly with customers who have outstanding debts. You'll need to be confident handling sensitive conversations, negotiating realistic repayment arrangements and managing challenging situations professionally.

Previous face-to-face debt collection experience is essential.

The role

• Visiting customers at their homes or business premises regarding outstanding debts.
• Discussing arrears and identifying appropriate repayment solutions.
• Negotiating payment arrangements in line with company procedures.
• Handling difficult or sensitive conversations with professionalism and empathy.
• Managing your own appointments, visits and territory.
• Maintaining accurate records and following relevant compliance procedures.
• Working independently while meeting agreed performance and quality standards.

What we're looking for

• Previous experience in field-based, face-to-face debt collection.
• Confidence conducting doorstep visits and discussing outstanding payments.
• Experience negotiating repayment arrangements and handling objections.
• Strong communication, resilience and sound judgement.
• An understanding of compliance, customer vulnerability and appropriate escalation.
• The ability to manage a field-based workload independently.
• A full UK driving licence.

Experience in utilities debt recovery, field collections, enforcement or similar environments would be particularly relevant, provided you've personally conducted face-to-face debt collection visits.

This position is not suitable for candidates whose experience is limited to telephone collections, parking enforcement or general customer service.
