Private Client Tax Manager

£55,000 to £70,000 per annum (DOE) | Permanent, full time

One of the strongest private client markets outside London, and a firm with a defined route to senior manager. A leading firm of Chartered Accountants in Manchester is looking for a CTA and/or ACA/ACCA qualified Private Client Tax Manager.

You’d take full ownership of a varied portfolio of high net worth individuals, trusts and estates, handling compliance and advisory work while partnering with the partners on the more strategically significant matters. The tax team is well structured and collegiate. Crowe Watson Recruitment knows the Manchester private client space particularly well.

What’s the day to day of the role:

• Running your own private client portfolio
• Advising across income tax, capital gains tax and inheritance tax
• Reviewing self assessment returns and overseeing the compliance process
• Acting as the key contact and building trusted client relationships
• Bringing on junior members of the tax team
• Handling HMRC enquiries and investigations

Required skills and qualifications:

• CTA and/or ACA/ACCA qualified with a strong private client tax background
• At least five years’ experience within a UK Practice environment
• A track record managing HNW private clients accurately and confidently
• Strong knowledge of UK personal tax, capital gains tax, inheritance tax and trusts
• Confident with clients, organised, and able to manage competing deadlines
