Food and Nutrition Teacher - Watford, Hertfordshire - Temporary to Permanent (January 2027)

A popular, well-established 11-18 secondary academy near Watford, Hertfordshire, is looking for an experienced Food and Nutrition Teacher to start in January 2027 on an ongoing, temporary to permanent basis. The role is paid to scale on MPS or UPS from day one and carries full teaching responsibilities.

The school has around 1,100 students, including a sixth form, and has been confirmed as 'Good' by Ofsted. Students enjoy coming to school, behaviour around the site is respectful, and the school offers a range of extra-curricular activities. Staff work in a modern, purpose-built school with good transport links by road and rail, and benefit from a full induction programme and a commitment to ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities include:

• Delivering engaging, practical Food and Nutrition lessons across KS3 and KS4
• Helping students achieve their best in a supportive learning environment
• Planning and assessing in line with the department's established schemes of work
• Contributing to the continued development of the Design and Technology department

Requirements for the Food and Nutrition Teacher role:

• Qualified Teacher Status (desirable)
• Experience teaching Food and Nutrition at secondary level (essential)
• Commitment to supporting all learners, including those with additional needs
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
• A full employment and education history
• Able to commute reliably to the Watford area
