KS2 Teacher Job in Torquay | Full-Time Maternity Cover | October Start

Hays Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and well-established primary school in the Torquay area to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic Key Stage 2 Teacher for a full-time maternity cover position starting in October 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate teacher who is looking for a long-term role with full teaching responsibility within a supportive and collaborative school environment. The role is expected to continue for the remainder of the academic year, providing stability and the opportunity to make a lasting impact on pupils' learning and development.

The Role

As the successful KS2 Teacher, you will take full responsibility for a Key Stage 2 class, including:

• Planning and delivering engaging lessons in line with the National Curriculum
• Assessing, monitoring and tracking pupil progress
• Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment
• Managing classroom behaviour effectively
• Attending staff meetings, parent consultations and school events
• Working collaboratively with colleagues and support staff to ensure the best outcomes for pupils

What We're Looking For

To be considered for this role, you will need:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in England
• Recent experience teaching within Key Stage 2
• Strong classroom management skills
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities
• A commitment to raising standards and supporting pupil achievement
• The ability to quickly build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents
