Client Support Manager (Public Sector / Construction)
Caerphilly, South Wales - Field Based / Hybrid
£52,000 Pro Rata + Car Allowance £5740 + Benefits + 6-Month Fixed-Term Contract
Are you an experienced Account Manager, Business Development Manager or Client Relationship Manager with a background in the public sector or built environment?
Are you looking for an opportunity to utilise your commercial and relationship management experience within an organisation that is making a genuine difference to communities across Wales?
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established, not-for-profit organisation that plays a key role in supporting public sector construction, housing and infrastructure projects across Wales.
Working as part of a close-knit regional team, you will take responsibility for managing an established portfolio of clients, strengthening existing relationships and progressing a pipeline of opportunities.
Unlike a traditional sales position, this role offers the opportunity to work across a wide range of sectors, engaging with local authorities, housing providers, contractors and strategic partners to help deliver projects that support local communities and the Welsh economy.
You will also gain valuable exposure to wider initiatives involving SME development, social value, skills development and strategic partnerships, making this an excellent opportunity to broaden your experience beyond conventional account management.
The ideal candidate will have a background in account management, business development or client relationship management, alongside experience within either the public sector or built environment. You will be commercially minded, confident managing client relationships and capable of identifying and progressing business opportunities. Experience within construction, housing, asset management or public sector services would be advantageous. You must be based in Wales, hold a full UK driving licence and be comfortable travelling to clients across the region.
The organisation is looking for someone who can hit the ground running, build strong relationships and take ownership of an existing client portfolio throughout this six-month assignment.
The Role:
*Managing and developing relationships with an established portfolio of public sector clients across Wales.
*Taking ownership of an existing pipeline of projects and commercial opportunities.
*Engaging with local authorities, housing providers, contractors and other stakeholders to understand their requirements.
*Supporting clients with construction, refurbishment and maintenance projects through established procurement frameworks.
*Identifying new business opportunities and helping progress existing projects.
*Working closely with a small regional team and wider technical and procurement specialists.
*Supporting initiatives focused on social value, local businesses and community development.
*Field-based position covering Wales, with attendance at the Caerphilly office at least once per week.
*Six-month fixed-term contract, working 36 hours per week.
The Person:
*Experience in account management, business development, sales or client relationship management.
*Background or working knowledge of either the built environment/construction industry or public sector.
*Strong communication skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders.
*Commercially aware, proactive and comfortable managing an existing portfolio and sales pipeline.
*Able to work independently and effectively within a small team.
*Based in Wales, with the ability to travel to client sites and attend the Caerphilly office.
*Full UK driving licence and access to a suitable vehicle.
*Available to undertake a six-month fixed-term contract.
