Assistant Accountant - 6 Month FTC📍 Outskirts of Middlesbrough💰 £35,000 - £40,000 📅 6 Month Fixed-Term Contract Are you an experienced Assistant Accountant looking for your next opportunity?I'm recruiting for a fantastic business based on the outskirts of Middlesbrough who are looking to add an Assistant Accountant to their finance team on an initial 6-month fixed-term contract.This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied, hands-on accounting role and wants to take real ownership of the month-end process while working closely with an experienced Finance Manager. What will you be doing? Preparation of monthly management accounts Preparation and posting of monthly journals Completing balance sheet reconciliations Managing intercompany reconciliations and recharges Preparing VAT reconciliations and submissions Working closely with the Finance Manager on a variety of ad hoc tasks between month-end close periods Supporting with ad hoc finance projects and process improvementsWhat are we looking for? Previous experience in an Assistant Accountant, Management Accountant or similar finance role Strong experience supporting the month-end process Good knowledge of balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations Confidence working with journals and VAT Strong Excel skills and excellent attention to detail A proactive approach and the ability to work independently as well as part of a wider finance teamPart-qualified accountants or candidates who are AAT qualified / qualified by experience would also be encouraged to apply.
