Are you a dynamic and results-driven CI / Lean Practitioner looking to lead and embed a culture of Lean across GXO? If you answered YES, this role could be your next opportunity!

Join the GXO Screwfix network as a Lean Practitioner, helping to drive a culture of sustainable change across our distribution operations. Working closely with operational teams across Trentham, Stafford, Lichfield and Runcorn, you'll use Lean methodologies, data and hands-on problem solving to deliver measurable improvements in safety, quality, cost, delivery and people performance.

The role is being offered on a full-time, permanent basis. Day shift pattern Monday to Friday; 08:00 – 16:00 with flexibility required. This role will be based predominantly at our Trentham, Stoke on Trent site.

Pay, benefits and more:

We’re looking to offer a salary of between £40-45k and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). You’ll have access to a company pension scheme, extensive wellbeing programmes and initiatives, and our GXO University which provides you the opportunity to learn new skills and gain qualifications at a pace that you’re comfortable with. Plus, many other perks such as a variety of high street discounts, a cycle to work scheme and our continued focus on internal promotions, over 60% last year!

What you'll do on a typical day:

  • Delivering the site and network Lean roadmap—leading and facilitating improvement projects, kaizen events and workshops to agreed timelines
  • Coaching and mentoring colleagues, from front-line teams to site leadership, so they can run their own improvement activity with confidence
  • Embedding the Lean management system on site: tier/info centres, Gemba walks, standard work, 3C problem solving and board audits
  • Designing and delivering Lean training (Lean Awareness, problem solving, Yellow Belt support) and building a pipeline of Lean Champions across the network
  • Providing robust data analysis, dashboards and reporting so Managers and Lean Specialists can see the impact of solutions and confirm measurable benefits
  • Working with Finance to validate, track and report financial savings, and acting as a local Project Manager for site improvement and project activity

What you need to succeed at GXO:

  • Experience driving Lean or Continuous Improvement initiatives within logistics, distribution, retail or supply chain operations
  • A proven track record of delivering sustainable operational improvements in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong coaching, influencing and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage colleagues at all levels
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills, including experience using operational data, Excel and Power BI (or similar)
  • A Lean/CI qualification (or willingness to achieve one), plus a full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel across the network
