We’re working with a growing business looking for a Payroll Clerk to join their friendly finance team. It’s a varied role where you’ll take responsibility for payroll administration, support employees with payroll queries and help ensure everything runs smoothly and accurately.

What you’ll be doing

• Processing weekly and monthly payroll
• Calculating wages, overtime, bonuses and deductions
• Maintaining accurate employee payroll records
• Processing starters, leavers and changes to employee details
• Dealing with payroll queries from employees
• Checking timesheets and ensuring payroll information is correct
• Processing statutory payments, including SSP and SMP
• Supporting with PAYE, National Insurance and pension contributions
• Helping with payroll reporting and month-end processes

What we’re looking for

• Previous experience as a Payroll Clerk, Payroll Administrator or in a similar role
• A good understanding of payroll processes and procedures
• Confident using payroll systems and Excel
• Good attention to detail and organisational skills
• Someone who can handle confidential information professionally
• A team player who enjoys working in a busy environment
