Assistant Financial Accountant

We are recruiting for an Assistant Financial Accountant to join an established and growing UK technology business.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional looking to develop their experience across financial reporting, management accounts, statutory reporting and financial compliance.

Working closely with the Group Accounting Manager, you will play an important role in supporting financial reporting activities across multiple group companies.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with monthly management accounts, group reporting and consolidation processes.
• Prepare journals, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals and prepayments.
• Support statutory accounts preparation and year-end audits.
• Manage intercompany reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Maintain financial reporting schedules, including revenue, leases and fixed assets.
• Assist with VAT, corporation tax and regulatory reporting.
• Support cash flow, treasury and investor reporting.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and reporting accuracy.

Skills & Experience

• AAT qualified, ACA/ACCA/CIMA part-qualified or studying towards a recognised accounting qualification. Relevant experience will also be considered.
• Previous experience in a finance or accounting role.
• Good understanding of month-end processes, reconciliations and accounting principles.
• Strong Excel skills and confidence working with financial systems.
• Excellent attention to detail, organisational and analytical skills.
• Experience with management accounts, statutory reporting or multi-entity accounting would be advantageous.
• Proactive, organised and keen to develop professionally.
