Reed Accountancy & Finance are delighted to be supporting a well-established business in Durham with the recruitment of an Accounts Assistant.

The Role

You'll support the day-to-day finance function, gaining exposure to a variety of accounting duties including:

• Processing sales invoices and customer receipts
• Assisting with bank reconciliations
• Supporting credit control activities
• Maintaining accurate financial records
• Assisting with journals and month-end processes
• Supporting management reporting and VAT returns
• Investigating and resolving account discrepancies
• Providing general support to the wider finance team

About You

• Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant, Purchase Ledger or similar role
• A basic understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Good Excel and IT skills
• Positive, proactive approach with a willingness to learn
• Studying AAT or interested in working towards a professional finance qualification
