Secondary English Tutor - Liverpool Location: Liverpool Hours: 5-15 hours per week Start Date: November 2026 Duration: Ongoing Prospero Teaching is seeking an enthusiastic English Tutor to support secondary-age learners with literacy, reading comprehension, writing skills and GCSE preparation. The successful candidate will deliver engaging sessions tailored to each pupil's individual learning goals. Key Responsibilities: Plan and deliver personalised English tuition. Support reading, spelling, grammar, creative writing and comprehension. Help pupils prepare for GCSE English Language and Literature where appropriate. Identify learning gaps and monitor progress. Build positive relationships and encourage confidence in learning. Experience, Training and Qualifications: Strong English subject knowledge. Experience supporting secondary-age pupils. A relevant teaching qualification, such as QTS or PGCE, is desirable. The ability to adapt lessons to different learning abilities and needs. To be eligible, the tutor must: Hold the right to work in the UK. Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain the required clearance. Provide two professional references.
