We’re recruiting on behalf of our client for an Experienced Driver Trainer / Assessor to join their transport operation. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional with a strong HGV background and a passion for road safety, driver development and compliance. You’ll play a key role in coaching drivers, improving performance and ensuring the highest standards of safety across the operation. WHAT'S ON OFFER? ✅ £40,000 annual salary ✅ Permanent, full-time position ✅ 06:00 start ✅ Opportunity for career development ✅ Varied role combining on-road assessments and classroom training ✅ Opportunity to make a real difference to driver safety and performance THE ROLE Your responsibilities will include: Conducting assessments for new and existing commercial drivers Carrying out assessments following road traffic collisions Identifying training needs and delivering driver retraining Delivering on-road and classroom-based training, including Driver CPC Conducting behavioural observations and performance assessments Advising on Drivers' Hours, tachograph regulations and Working Time Regulations Carrying out vehicle and driver audits and spot checks Delivering vehicle familiarisation training, toolbox talks and new starter inductions Assisting with accident investigations and camera footage reviews Maintaining training records and monitoring driver compliance Working closely with Transport, Fleet Compliance and Health & Safety teams ✅ THE IDEAL CANDIDATE You will need: ✔️ Full Class 1 C+E HGV licence ✔️ Minimum 5 years' commercial driving experience ✔️ Clean driving licence with no points or endorsements ✔️ Recognised Driver Assessor qualification/accreditation ✔️ Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card ✔️ Previous experience in driver training and assessment ✔️ Strong knowledge of Drivers' Hours, tachograph rules, WTD and transport legislation ✔️ Excellent communication, coaching and interpersonal skills ✔️ Good IT skills and a professional approach INTERESTED?
