Customer Service Administrator – Logistics – £32,000

I’m currently recruiting for a number of Customer Service Administrators to join an established and growing logistics business based in Stanford-le-Hope, supporting their busy transport operations.

This is a great opportunity for someone with strong customer service and administration experience who enjoys a fast-paced operational environment and wants to develop their career within the logistics and transport sector.

The role

Working closely with customers, drivers, transport operators, planners, shipping lines and depots, you'll play an important role in keeping the daily operation running smoothly.

• Your responsibilities will include:
• Acting as a key point of contact for customers, operators and drivers
• Providing administrative and operational support to the transport team
• Managing customer enquiries via telephone, email and customer portals
• Processing export bookings and carrying out vessel checks
• Checking PODs and confirming bookings with shipping lines
• Managing container and depot amendments and liaising with planners
• Monitoring container movements, stock and off-hire requirements
• Maintaining customer portals and EDI systems
• Reviewing shipment instructions and ensuring information is accurately recorded
• Resolving operational queries and coordinating with relevant teams
• Supporting VIP customer requirements and maintaining accurate records
• Managing shared mailboxes and ensuring enquiries are prioritised and actioned
• Carrying out location suitability checks for HGV deliveries
• Supporting the wider operations team with general administration

We're looking for someone who:

• Has previous customer service or administration experience
• Is highly organised with excellent attention to detail
• Communicates confidently both verbally and in writing
• Can manage multiple priorities in a busy operational environment
• Is comfortable working to deadlines and service levels
• Has good Outlook, Excel and Word skills
• Enjoys problem-solving and working collaboratively

Previous transport, logistics, shipping or container experience would be advantageous, particularly if you've worked with export bookings, shipping lines, depots, transport systems, customer portals or EDI.
