Freight Forwarder - Ocean Operations

Key Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle ocean freight shipments for both import and export movements.
• Coordinate bookings with shipping lines, overseas agents, hauliers, warehouses, and customers.
• Prepare and process all relevant shipping documentation, including:
  • Bills of Lading
  • Commercial Invoices
  • Packing Lists
  • Export Documentation
  • Customs Documentation
• Monitor shipment progress and provide proactive updates to customers.
• Ensure all shipments are handled in accordance with customer requirements and agreed service levels.
• Liaise with customs brokers and ensure compliance with customs regulations and international trade requirements.
• Resolve operational issues including shipment delays, customs queries, and carrier exceptions.
• Negotiate rates and maintain positive relationships with carriers, suppliers, and overseas partners.
• Accurately raise job files, process costs, and support invoicing activities.
• Maintain accurate shipment records within the freight forwarding system.

Essential Requirements

• Minimum 2 years' experience within ocean freight forwarding operations.
• Strong understanding of FCL (Full Container Load) and LCL (Less than Container Load) shipments.
• Experience handling import and export shipments.
