Assistant HR Business Partner

Location: Weston-super-Mare
Contract: Temporary Agency Contract (2 Months)
Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Salary: Competitive hourly rate

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Assistant HR Business Partner to join a busy People team on a temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys partnering with operational teams, providing practical HR support, and contributing to wider people-focused initiatives.

Working closely with HR Business Partners, you will help deliver a high-quality, customer-focused HR service while supporting managers with employee relations matters, people processes, and organisational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide professional, legally compliant HR advice and support across designated business areas.
• Partner with HR Business Partners to support the delivery of People Plans and organisational objectives.
• Manage a range of employee relations cases, offering timely, pragmatic guidance to managers.
• Support key people processes including recruitment, payroll, benefits administration, and employee experience initiatives.
• Build strong working relationships with managers and colleagues across the organisation.
• Monitor HR data, track case progress, identify trends, and contribute to reporting and insights.
• Assist with workforce planning, organisational design, and change management activities where required.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives, including the implementation of technology and AI-driven solutions within HR services.
• Ensure HR policies and procedures are applied consistently and effectively.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Strong generalist HR knowledge with a sound understanding of employment law.
• Experience managing employee relations casework.
• Previous experience supporting recruitment and wider HR processes.
• Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
• A proactive and solutions-focused approach to work.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
• Experience interpreting HR policies and working with HR data.
• A high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
• A-Level education (or equivalent).
• A full UK driving licence.
• CIPD Level 5 qualification, or currently working towards it, or equivalent HR experience.
