Accounts Manager | Business Services Group (Top 100 Accountancy Firm)

A highly respected and growing Top 100 Accountancy Firm is seeking an experienced Accounts Manager to join its successful Business Services Group. This is an excellent opportunity for an ACA or ACCA-qualified professional looking to take ownership of a varied client portfolio while leading and developing a high-performing team.

Working closely with a diverse client base, you will oversee statutory accounts assignments from planning through to completion, ensuring exceptional client service and the delivery of high-quality work. You will also play a key role in developing client relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and mentoring junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of clients, acting as their trusted advisor.
• Plan and oversee statutory accounts assignments from start to finish.
• Manage budgets, timescales, and client expectations.
• Review and delegate work to team members, ensuring quality and efficiency.
• Build strong client relationships and identify opportunities for additional services.
• Lead, mentor and develop team members through appraisals, probation reviews and ongoing performance management.
• Liaise with Partners and provide regular updates on client and team developments.
• Ensure all assignments are delivered on time and to the highest technical standards.

About You

• ACA or ACCA qualified.
• Proven experience managing a client portfolio within an accountancy practice.
• Strong technical knowledge of statutory and management accounts.
• Previous experience leading and developing a team.
• Good working knowledge of UK GAAP and VAT.
• Experience using software such as Xero, Sage, CaseWare and CCH would be advantageous.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
