The Role

As a Nursery Practitioner, you will play a key part in providing a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment where children feel confident to explore, learn, and thrive. You’ll contribute to high-quality childcare and education, working in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and alongside experienced colleagues.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting children's learning and development through engaging, play-based activities
• Planning and delivering creative and age-appropriate learning experiences
• Encouraging independence, confidence, and communication skills
• Supporting children's social, emotional, and physical development
• Observing and recording children's progress and developmental milestones
• Building positive and trusting relationships with children and families
• Supporting daily routines, including mealtimes, personal care, and outdoor play
• Collaborating with colleagues to create an inclusive and welcoming setting
• Ensuring the nursery remains safe, clean, and stimulating
• Following safeguarding, health and safety policies, and nursery procedures
• Supporting children with additional needs and adapting activities where required

Essential:

• Level 3 qualification in Early Years or Childcare
• Good knowledge and understanding of the EYFS framework
• Understanding of child development and age-appropriate learning
• Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to create engaging and stimulating activities
• A caring, patient, and positive approach
• Genuine passion for supporting children's learning and wellbeing

Desirable:

• Previous experience in a nursery or Early Years setting
• Paediatric First Aid qualification
• Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification or willingness to complete training
• Experience supporting children with additional learning needs
