The Opportunity An established Bristol employer is seeking an Accounts Payable Assistant to support its finance team during a backlog clearance and busy operational period. This is an immediate requirement and would suit somebody with strong purchase ledger experience who can quickly integrate into a fast-paced finance function. Duties & Responsibilities Processing high volumes of supplier invoices accurately and efficiently. Matching, batching and coding invoices. Three-way matching of invoices against purchase orders and goods received notes. Managing supplier queries via telephone and email. Performing supplier statement reconciliations. Supporting weekly and monthly payment runs. Processing staff expenses. Investigating and resolving invoice discrepancies. Assisting with aged creditor reviews and ledger clean-up activities. Supporting the AP team with month-end tasks. Skills & Experience Previous Accounts Payable or Purchase Ledger experience. Experience processing high volumes of invoices. Strong reconciliation and query-resolution skills. Intermediate Excel knowledge. Ability to work accurately under pressure. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.Desired Experience of systems such as SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, Dynamics, NetSuite or similar.
