Purchasing Manager - Doncaster - £50,000 - £60,000 + Hybrid Company Car

Elevation Recruitment Group is proud to be partnering exclusively with an established global manufacturer in Doncaster who is looking to recruit a Purchasing Manager to join their growing team.

This newly created key role will see you shape strategy, rationalise the supply base and lead the purchasing and stores team, all with the backing of a large international group behind you.

The Role

• Lead the procurement function, ensuring timely, cost-effective and quality-focused sourcing of materials, equipment and services
• Develop and implement purchasing strategies aligned with business objectives
• Drive rationalisation of the UK supply chain, sourcing, evaluating and onboarding new suppliers
• Lead negotiations on pricing, contracts, rebates, payment terms and supply agreements
• Establish supplier KPIs covering quality, delivery, service and cost, and run regular performance reviews
• Ensure continuity of supply while improving stock turnover and reducing excess inventory and working capital
• Manage purchasing budgets and report on spend, savings and supplier performance
• Contribute to wider group purchasing initiatives
• Lead, motivate and develop the purchasing and stores team, building a culture of continuous improvement

The Person

• At least 5 years’ experience within a strategic procurement role
• Proven track record in supplier negotiation and cost reduction
• Strong commercial and financial acumen
• Experience of international sourcing and import/export procedures
• Confident user of ERP/MRP systems with advanced Excel and reporting skills
• Demonstrable leadership and team management experience
• Background within an industrial manufacturing environment
