Position Description

We are seeking a highly motivated graduate or junior Mandarin-speaking professional to join our US Sales Trading team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career in institutional equities, working closely with portfolio managers, traders, salespeople, and clients across the US market. The successful candidate will support the execution of client orders, monitor market activity, provide market colour, and develop a strong understanding.

Professional-level fluency in Mandarin (spoken and written) is a mandatory requirement for this position, and candidates who are not fluent in Mandarin will not be considered.

Key Areas of Responsibilities

1. Assist senior sales traders in the execution of US equity orders for institutional clients.
2. Monitor US market activity, news flow, corporate events, and trading volumes
3. Provide pre-market, intraday, and post-market updates to internal teams and clients
4. Help manage client order flow across exchanges, dark pools, and alternative trading venues
5. Work closely with electronic trading, program trading, and execution consulting teams.
6. Support trade booking, allocations, and post-trade enquiries
7. Produce market commentary, trading analytics, and client reports
8. Develop an understanding of US market structure, liquidity dynamics, and trading algorithms
9. Build relationships with internal stakeholders including research, sales, trading, and operations teams
10. Ensure all trading activity complies with internal policies and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

1. Fluency in both Mandarin and English is essential
2. Bachelor's degree or above in Finance, Mathematics, Sciences, or a related field
3. Interest in financial markets and investing; relevant internship experience preferred
4. Strong analytical and quantitative skills
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
6. Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
7. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
8. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
9. Knowledge of US equity markets and market structure preferred
10. Familiarity with Bloomberg, FactSet, or similar platforms
11. Understanding of electronic trading, algorithms, and execution services
12. Python, VBA, SQL, or other data analysis skills advantageous
13. Strong client-service mindset and relationship-building skills
14. Collaborative team player with a willingness to learn
15. Commercially aware with an interest in long-term client relationships
