Birmingham City Centre | £26,000 – £28,000 | Permanent or 12-month FTC | Full time, office based

Just finished your degree and looking for a first role where you’ll actually get stuck in? This could be a great place to start.

Our client is a well-established training provider in Birmingham, supporting hundreds of electrical apprentices at the start of their careers. They work with a large network of employers across the region. The office team is friendly and close-knit, and they genuinely make a difference to the people coming through their doors.

They’re looking for a bright, organised graduate to join as Office Administrator. No two days are quite the same, so they want someone who’s happy to muck in wherever they’re needed.

What you’ll be doing

  • Keeping the day running smoothly: scheduling apprentice groups, processing registers and recording attendance
  • Acting as the link between the training centre, apprentices and their employers, by phone and email
  • Scheduling and invigilating exams, including organising practical assessments
  • Preparing enrolment letters, paperwork and induction packs for new apprentices
  • Helping arrange catch-up sessions for apprentices who’ve missed training or need to resit
  • Tracking apprentice progress and reviews, and keeping trackers up to date
  • General office support: printing, photocopying, binding and whatever else crops up

What they’re looking for

  • A recent graduate (any discipline) with a strong academic record
  • Well organised, with a good eye for detail
  • Confident and friendly on the phone and over email
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office
  • Proactive, positive and happy to roll your sleeves up

Hours

Monday to Thursday, 8am – 4.30pm

Friday, 8am – 4pm (an earlier finish to start the weekend)

Why apply?

It’s a brilliant first step into the working world. You’ll get plenty of variety, real responsibility from day one and the chance to help young people start their careers. The role is open as permanent or a 12-month fixed-term contract, so there’s flexibility depending on what you’re after.
